Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is this only for high school students?
No. SHIFT-CLEAR:Ed™ is for high school students and current or returning college students with learning differences who want to better understand or advocate for accommodations.
Will this screening give me everything I need to request college accommodations?
It depends. Some colleges accept recent IEP or 504 documentation, but many require updated evaluations. This screening will help you understand what your specific school is likely to need—and whether additional testing is recommended.
Can you help us write a letter or prepare for a school meeting?
Yes. Your written summary will include tailored language you can use in a meeting, email, or documentation request. We’ll also guide you on how to talk about needs without overexplaining or underselling them.
Do I need to bring anything to the screening?
After booking, we’ll ask you to upload any recent documents—such as an IEP, 504 plan, or prior evaluations—before your session. If you don’t have paperwork, we can still help by listening to your story and guiding next steps.
Can this replace an official school evaluation or diagnosis?
No. SHIFT-CLEAR:Ed™ is a screening, not a formal evaluation. However, it can help you decide whether a full psychoeducational evaluation is necessary—and what kind.
Is this only for students who already have a diagnosis?
Not at all. This screening is especially helpful if you suspect your student may have unmet needs or undiagnosed learning differences and want to explore options before committing to full testing.
Whether you’re starting college—or starting over—support shouldn’t stop at graduation.
If you're in high school with an IEP, already in college, or returning as a non-traditional student, SHIFT-CLEAR:Ed™ helps you move forward with clarity—not confusion.
We help you understand what supports apply, what documentation you may need, and how to speak up for yourself in learning environments that don’t always explain the rules.
Because navigating college with a learning difference shouldn’t feel like a mystery.
